Visitors can rent our hut by the day as the perfect base to explore West Mersea Beach.

How do I access the beach hut?
Access to the hut is via a key safe on the back of the hut. We will text you with an access code for the keys 24 hours before your booking. Please be sure to scramble the keycode and close the shutter on the keysafe when unattended.
How many are allowed in the huts?
A maximum of 8 per hut including babies and dogs! We reserve the right to ask you to leave if we find an excess of guests. We ask you kindly to keep within the boundaries of our beach hut in order not to encroach on our neighbouring huts.
How long do I have at the beach hut?
Guests have access to the hut from 9:30am to 7:30pm.
Can you stay in the hut overnight?
Sleeping overnight in the beach hut is not permitted. The hut is alarmed after 8pm.
How does the tide impact our day at the beach hut?
When planning your journey to Mersea Island, please remember to check the tide times for the day as The Strood (the main road on and off the island) is sometimes covered by high tide. You can find the tide details here: www.stroodcam.co.uk
Is the hut wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, the hut is not accessible for wheelchair users.
Can we bring a BBQ?
BBQs are not allowed in the beach hut or on the decking. BBQs are allowed on the beach at a safe distance from the hut and must not cause a nuisance to other hut and beach users. Please dispose of your BBQ responsibly.
Is the beach hut dog friendly?
Well behaved dogs are always welcome and must be supervised at all times and must not jump on the bench seats or any soft furnishings. We only allow a maximum of one dog per hut.
We reserve the right to charge for any extra cleaning or damage. You must not leave dogs unattended at any time, especially when the beach is busy so please be mindful of this.
Is there running water?
The hut has a sink and portable water carriers located under the sink which can be used to collect fresh water from the tap located behind Hut 22.
Are the huts cleaned between guests?
We take great pride in offering a luxury beach hut experience, the hut is cleaned, organised and sanitised before every booking. In order to do this, it does rely upon each guest treating it as their own. In the event of any breakages /soiling please do let us know ASAP so we can rectify in time for the next guests. We completely understand that accidents happen.
Should I tidy up before I leave?
We kindly ask you to take any rubbish with you or dispose in the bins behind the hut, wash any utensils and/or sand from toys. A collapsible washing up bowl can be found under the sink and a fresh water tap is located behind Hut 22.
Please clean and sweep the hut and deck before you depart. We provide all cleaning products for this purpose and provide a brush for sweeping out the hut before leaving.
What is your cancellation policy?
We offer free cancellation up to 14 days prior to arrival. After this point, a £40 admin fee will be deducted from any refund. No refund/amendment is available if cancellation is within 7 days of arrival.
We do not offer refunds/amendments for bad weather.
We are unable to transfer any bookings to another date during the peak season of July and August.
To amend a booking free of change we require more than 7 days notice via email. Any further amendments will result in a £40 admin charge.
